North Carolina Aquarium

Our last full day of vacation we decided to check out the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher.

Maverick the Eagle. Injured and unfit for release, he’s getting a whole new habitat soon and he deserves it.

Taking pictures of sharks is hard.

One of my favorites!

The aquarium was about average in size and displays, but I have to say the volunteers really made the place! They were so friendly and helpful, but not pushy and awkward. They obviously cared deeply about the aquarium and it’s residents. Shout-out to all of them doing all that work for free.

Also touch-tanks. Petting stingrays and horseshoe crabs makes my life.

We continued outside, there was a nice walk around where we searched for Venus Fly-Traps to no avail. We did see a water snake that I didn’t get a picture of.
