Winter has descended upon us, and I’m so nostalgic for that oh-so-brief autumn we had ourselves this year! Those crisp days under a warm sun… color all around us… jackets and sweaters, and perfect times outside. We squeezed what we could out of it, but it was over so fast.
One of these perfect days was in the middle of October, and we had ourselves some classic fall festivities at Roba Family Farms in North Abington, PA. It’s a popular spot in our area, but one we rarely spend much time at. It always felt a little too family-oriented, but we figured we’d see what two single adults could make of it.
The petting/feeding zoo is adorable. Goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits, even a llama.
Targets for pumpkin cannon launches:
Our main destination: the corn maze. There’s a small child version we warmed up with, and then we tackled the mega maze. Made quick work of it too!
Hot chocolate in hand, I could have hung out in there all afternoon.
View over the maze from a lookout point.
One of my favorite colors in nature is this bright, deep red. Just gorgeous.
“Stand in front of that and let me take your picture!!”
-Me, like every 15 minutes every time we go out
Took a free wagon ride around the farm. There was no hay, it was a lie. But it was charming anyway.
Winter is coming.
Plenty of things I didn’t get pictures of: donuts, fresh lemonade, an array of food and drink stands, playgrounds for children, a koi pond with ducks, a gift shop, variety of pumpkins, apples, and gourds for sale, giant slide, bounce mats, a dog show, and singing animatronic farm animals!
We came home with some pumpkins to carve, and the most delicious apples I’ve ever tasted!
So glad we got to actually experience the season, at least for a little while! We’ll try to make the most of the next one.
