A couple years ago we visited Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, NY:
Unbelievably beautiful.
The water was so clear close to shore, and even as it suddenly turned that striking blue/green as the bottom dropped out it was insanely clean and pure. Almost looked like a swimming pool!
Learned just a little about the whys and hows of this ancient place, and it was awesome to read about the area during the ice age and more. History is everywhere.
